I built a trust-first Instagram content strategy for My Local Pro, a national solar, roofing and HVAC brand, so homeowners feel they know the team before they ask for a quote.
The challenge
Homeowners distrust the home improvement category, so My Local Pro had to earn trust before it could earn a quote.
My Local Pro delivers solar, roofing and HVAC through hometown crews, backed by lifetime support, under the line “Local Pros. National Strength.” The category is full of pushy sales tactics and skeptical homeowners.
The goal: build trust before the quote, and turn Instagram into a steady source of inbound leads.
Audience insight
Homeowners worry about four things before they hire anyone, and each worry became a content angle.
Hidden costs: quotes that grow once the project has already started.
Pushy sales: pressure to sign fast, with little explained up front.
Installer exits: a warranty that means nothing if the company disappears.
Slow follow-up: crews that go quiet between the signature and the install.
Instagram Content Strategy Case Study
Strategy
Three content pillars kept the feed focused and gave every post a clear job.
Social proof: real customer words turned into testimonial tiles, so happy homeowners do the selling.
Education: red flags, hidden costs and what to ask before signing, delivered in swipeable carousels.
Trust and process: what a smooth project looks like, from the signed agreement to the finished install.
Execution
I built one feed from three repeatable formats, each written around a real homeowner concern.
Testimonial tiles: customer quotes with star ratings on a branded backdrop, so proof is recognizable at a glance.
Swipeable carousels: educational posts that open with a hook and walk the homeowner to a clear next step.
Photo-led posts: project imagery with a short headline in a teal text box, built to stop the scroll.
Every hook names a fear the homeowner already has, then promises a clear answer inside the post. Examples from the feed:
Before hiring anyone to work on your home… watch for these 5 red flags.
You signed the agreement. So why aren’t crews on your roof tomorrow?
The hidden costs nobody talks about before a home upgrade.
What happens if your solar installer goes out of business?
The cheapest quote could cost you the most.
Three content pillars kept the feed focused and gave every post a clear job.
Visual system
Every post looks like it belongs to one brand, so the profile reads as a business and not a collection of posts.
Colors from the logo: brand teal (#00B3C2) and deep navy (#004B66), with white text.
Highlight yellow: reserved for the phrase that matters most in a headline.
One layout per format: the logo sits in a consistent spot, and headlines follow the same structure.
Roof-shingle backdrop: marks every testimonial tile, so proof is easy to spot while scrolling.
Featured posts
Four posts show the range of the feed, and each does a different job. The reasons below describe the thinking behind each post, not performance data.

Next steps
Three changes would make the content work harder for the business.
Turn testimonials into short video: let customers say it on camera, with one short clip per finished project.
Give every post one clear next step: a single action, such as a DM keyword or a link in bio, so interest turns into conversations.
Track saves and shares by pillar: double down on the formats homeowners keep and send to their family.
