Nuve makes connected thermostats that HVAC contractors install in homes. Behind it sits a dense back-office shared by three teams — admins, sales, and warehouse — to track stock, manage orders, onboard technicians, and follow each device from shelf to wall.
It worked, but looked fifteen years old — built for the database, not the people using it. My job was to modernize it without losing the depth those teams rely on.

Problem
Every screen was a raw table, every workflow a detour through settings. But the depth was real: a thermostat moves through many states, each team cares about a different slice, and a whole fleet of deployed devices has to stay healthy. A coat of paint wasn't the brief.

Approach
I anchored the redesign on a few ideas that cut across all three teams, instead of restyling screen by screen.
NUVE filters panel with date-range picker and multi-select
NUVE multi-dimensional customer and device filter
NUVE device diagnostic report with temperature trace
NUVE technicians directory
Result
One modern operations hub with a single navigation spine across all three roles — a back-office that no longer feels a decade behind.
