Tattoo Booking Website

This website is a portfolio and booking page for a local tattoo artist. They wanted one site for their clients to browse their existing work, see all their social media, and contact them to book an appointment. As a new artist, it was also important to them that the website hosting and services cost as little as possible. They also wanted it to have a fun, strong brand identity that was consistent with their social media content branding.

Worked directly with the artist to design a logo and color palette that fit with their existing branding from social media

Increased bookings by 20% within the first month of release by optimizing SEO and connecting the website to the artist's existing social media presence

Executed the implementation of live social media integration, an email-connected booking form with image upload feature, and a detailed FAQ page

Kept overhead costs to $25/month while researching and incorporating new WordPress plugins and external products to improve user experience

This project taught me a TON about WordPress customization and plugins. I had previously dabbled in WordPress but this was my first chance to design a full scale application. As someone used to writing everything from scratch, it was a bit of a learning curve to be limited to prebuilt widgets, but I eventually became more comfortable with the platform and I'm really happy with my results.

I'm currently building a fully custom website for this artist with the same features, written in React with Next.js. I plan to incorporate custom art to showcase the artist's talents and to add some CSS animation to bring some more life to the design. This new site is coinciding with a rebrand from the artist so that the site will feel closer to their new imagery and favored color palette.

I worked as the sole consultant and developer for this website, and now I perform regular maintenance on it as well as make occasional changes requested by the artist.
