Twinr is a no-code SaaS platform that empowers businesses and creators to instantly convert their websites into fully functional native iOS and Android apps without writing a single line of code. Built for startups, agencies, and enterprises alike, Twinr bridges the gap between web and mobile, offering an affordable, scalable solution for rapid app deployment.
When I joined the Twinr team, the platform was still in its conceptual stage. There was no existing design, no product interface, and no visual identity. I was brought on board to lead the complete UI/UX design process from ideation to delivery and help bring Twinr to life as a polished, intuitive, and market-ready SaaS product.
GOALS
The main objectives for designing Twinr from the ground up included:
Craft an Intuitive SaaS Experience: Make it easy for non-technical users to convert and manage mobile apps without coding knowledge.
Simplify Complex Processes: Abstract away technical complexity while retaining robust customization and control for users.
Design a Scalable Design System: Build a UI system that supports future features, integrations, and white-label possibilities.
Create a Trustworthy Brand Identity: Position Twinr as a professional, reliable, and forward-thinking solution in a competitive market.
Optimize for Conversion: Drive trial signups and customer onboarding through an engaging and frictionless flow.
MY ROLE
As the sole UI/UX designer on the project, I was responsible for:
User Research & Personas: Identifying key user types (e.g., founders, marketers, developers) and tailoring the flow to meet their needs.
UX Architecture: Defining app structure, user flows, and interaction logic for core features like app creation, customization, and publishing.
UI Design: Designing the complete interface from the landing page to the internal dashboard, using a modular and scalable design system.
Prototyping: Building high-fidelity interactive prototypes in Figma to demonstrate flow and behavior.
Developer Handoff: Delivering annotated design specs, style guides, and assets to the development team for implementation.
COLLABORATION & PROCESS
The design process was agile and collaborative over a span of 8 weeks:
Discovery Phase: Aligned with stakeholders on goals, competitors, user stories, and key differentiators.
Wireframing: Rapid iterations of low-fidelity wireframes to define the onboarding process, dashboard layout, and feature hierarchies.
Visual Design & System Building: Created a modern, clean visual identity with a focus on accessibility, clarity, and brand personality.
Usability Testing: Conducted stakeholder walkthroughs and informal user tests to validate usability before handoff.
Design Handoff: Delivered pixel-perfect UI screens, responsive breakpoints, and a component library to developers.
RESULTS & IMPACT
The completed Twinr platform launched successfully and immediately stood out for its clean interface and usability:
User Satisfaction: Early users praised the dashboard’s simplicity and ease of use, even when navigating complex actions like app customization and push notification setup.
Reduced Support Requests: Clear design and thoughtful microcopy led to fewer user queries during onboarding.
Increased Trial Conversions: The onboarding design and dashboard clarity helped boost trial-to-paid conversion rates.
Brand Perception: The modern design gave Twinr a professional presence, helping it gain credibility with early adopters and partners.
CONCLUSION
Designing Twinr from scratch was a deep-dive into building a scalable SaaS experience tailored for both beginners and experienced users. From a blank canvas to a fully functional, user-friendly platform, the project showcased how good design can simplify technology, inspire trust, and drive product adoption. It was a rewarding opportunity to shape a product that makes mobile app development more accessible for everyone.
