Branding an A.I. pet care buddy named Peri

For this project, the goal was to create a branding concept for an innovative AI-powered pet care assistant named Peri. While these branding designs are not my original work, they represent the kind of modern, vibrant, and user-friendly branding that inspires me as a designer. The creative direction for Peri focused on humanizing artificial intelligence, making it feel accessible, intelligent, and helpful, while steering away from the typical "tech-heavy" aesthetic often seen in AI designs.
These branding elements, such as the choice of a parakeet as a symbol, a fresh color palette, and organic, geometrically inspired logo shapes, reflect the visual language I find compelling and often draw from. The goal here was to blend trust, playfulness, and modernity, ensuring that the AI felt approachable while still conveying its intelligence.
I admire how these designs balance innovation with friendliness, creating a brand that not only feels welcoming but also intelligent and contemporary. Though these designs were not created by me, they have served as inspiration for the type of work I am passionate about—designs that feel alive, engaging, and purpose-driven. At its heart, Peri’s symbol is the parakeet, chosen for its intelligence and its ability to mimic human voices. Like the A.I. itself, the parakeet represents communication, learning, and intelligence. Geometrically constructed but still organic in feel, the mark doubles as a subtle speech bubble, reinforcing the idea of thoughtful conversation between humans and technology.

Process:

Understanding the Brand:
The first step involved understanding Peri’s role as an AI assistant and how to represent it in a way that feels both innovative and relatable. By researching pet care, AI, and their intersection, I aimed to create a branding solution that communicated both trust and advanced technology.
Exploring Visual Identity:
I focused on developing a visual identity that would break the mold of typical tech branding. This included researching natural colors and shapes that could evoke a sense of warmth and friendliness, while still representing cutting-edge technology.
Symbol Design:
The parakeet symbol was chosen for its association with communication and intelligence, aligning perfectly with Peri’s AI nature. It represents learning, mimicry, and interaction, key qualities of the AI technology behind Peri.
Color Palette & Typography:
The colors were inspired by the natural vibrancy of parakeets, with bright, welcoming hues that complement the approachable nature of the AI assistant. The typography was designed to be modern and readable, without being overly sterile.
Brand Guidelines:
The final step was creating a set of brand guidelines to ensure the identity could be used consistently across various platforms, including the website, app, and promotional materials. These guidelines included logo usage, typography rules, and color specifications.
