In the 14th century, mystics used tarot cards for divination, similar to the cards you use to play Black Jack, poker, and solitaire today. However, as opposed to the 78 cards in a tarot deck, there are 52 cards in a playing card deck, and the difference between the tarot deck and playing cards is that the cartomancy cards have a precise meaning, whereas tarot cards have hidden meanings. As a result, playing cards provide literal answers, while tarot cards only suggest possible outcomes.
