The end of the GOAT era in football

With the UEFA Champions League taking place for the first time without Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo in more than 20 years, it truly is the end of one of, if not the greatest era of football.
Messi and Ronaldo have left an indelible mark on the beautiful game, scoring goals for fun and making winning trophies look like child's play. They captivated audiences throughout the world, introducing many new fans to the game. Heck, there are so many people who only know football because of these two. Together, they have scored over 1500 goals, won just about 80 trophies, which include all the honours like the Champions League, World Cup, Ballon D'ors, FIFA Men's Best Player, multiple league trophies and so many more.
While the new generation of players does look promising, with players like Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland and Vinicius Jr. shining bright, it is a concrete fact that there will never be anybody who will ever get to the level of the 2 GOATs of football.
Thank You for everything, Messi and Ronaldo
