Recently, I posted a poll asking you if TikTok can be used as a marketing channel. And a handful voted no. Let's analyze why. Before saying anything, let's discuss TikTok. TikTok is a social media platform based on short videos up to 3 minutes long. It used to be 1 minute, and the video length was extended recently. In this platform, creators upload short videos on different genres and people can like, comment, and share on other social media like Instagram Stories and Facebook. The creator game in Bangladeshi TikTok is not very good. The videos are mostly jibber-jabber and without any context- which is mostly known as "Cringe Contents". This criterion extremely affects social media users to stay away from this 'weird platform", because THIS IS NOT FOR THEM. But the question arises, can TikTok be used as a platform to promote business? In some cases, it can't. But since a huge amount of teenagers are on this app for a really long time every day, this can be used as leverage if your Target Group matches them. And the TikTok game is slowly getting better. I have used the app for research purposes, and in a week, I found creators who upload videos about social media, marketing, cinematography, and art. And a lot of educational creators are using TikTok for personal branding.
