Splice — FL Studio Tutorial ft. KooldrinkPost-Production Editorial & Creative Direction
Following the success of the "Five Sounds I Can't Live Without" piece, Splice brought me back for another chapter in the Kooldrink story — this time going further behind the curtain. Where the first video was about the ingredients, this one was about the cooking.
The brief: give Splice's producer community an honest, inside look at how Kooldrink actually builds an Amapiano track from the ground up — techniques, workflow, and the plugins he keeps close to his chest.
Tutorial content lives or dies by the edit. Too loose and you lose the viewer. Too rigid and you kill the personality that made them click in the first place. The editorial approach here was about finding that balance — keeping the pacing tight enough to hold attention through a detailed production walkthrough, while giving Kooldrink enough room to let his process feel natural and unscripted.
The storytelling thread was my guide rail. Rather than cutting it as a straight instructional, I framed it as a producer letting you into his session — building curiosity beat by beat, with each technique and plugin reveal landing as a moment rather than just information.
For producers looking to level up their Amapiano or FL Studio game, it's a genuine resource. For Splice, it's another piece of content that deepens the relationship between their platform and the creators who matter most to their audience.
