PRESS RELEASE: INDIE ARTIST MÍRA UNVEILS EP “AUBURN BLEACH”
For Release on: August 13, 2021 - Today, rising indie artist, míra releases his second EP, "Auburn Bleach," out now on all streaming platforms. Throughout the entirety of the project, "Auburn Bleach" ranges stylistically from ethereal indie to alternative R&B, as míra shows off the versatility and artistry of a true musical visionary. Since his debut in 2019, míra has firmly established himself as one of the most impressive, consistent artists on the independent scene, a reputation that will undoubtedly be burnished with this project.
"Auburn Bleach" comes on the heels of the two singles that míra has released so far this year, "Fireworks" and "Honda," both of which are on the project. Across all eight songs on "Auburn Bleach," míra puts his full range of talent on display. As míra draws influence from Jeff Buckley and Tyler, The Creator, it's clear to see the impact that both artists have had on him: he draws from the poetically rich, lyrical nature of the former and the experimental, genre-bending nature of the latter.
For all eight songs on "Auburn Bleach," míra teamed up with the Austin, Texas-based producer, Makzey. The duo collaborated on the entire project during quarantine, without ever being in the same room together. Throughout the project, Makzey utilizes warm, layered analog production to create lush harmonies and glorious soundscapes, providing the perfect complement to míra's smooth vocals.
The project's lead single, "April," is an atmospheric indie song that reflects on the uneasiness of growing up. As míra explains, "'April' is for the kids who don't feel ready for the future." The song's production offers a warm contrast to the anxious lyricism with heavy hooks and breezy melodies. "April" is an easy listen and an irresistible track you'll be singing along to for a long, long time.
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
On “April,” the lead single off of “Auburn Bleach,” míra puts together a masterful display of genre-bending indie music. Showing off his penchant for poetic lyricism and hook-heavy, breezy melodies, míra has a hit on his hands. He delves into the uncertainty of growing up throughout the track, as he looks back on high school when everything feels like such a big deal. míra wrote “April” a year after he graduated high school with the type of reflective clarity that only comes with maturity. He explains, “I was thinking about how simple things were and the gravity of the inconveniences I felt as a kid figuring it out.” Working with his producer, Makzey, the two collaborated from across the country on the entire project while never being in the same room together.
