Augme | AR App

Khadija Udaipurwala

Augmé is a furniture shopping app that allows you to customize your room by being able see what a 3D object will look like in that environment. It allows users to experience the finished look and feel of their space through their smart devices. One way to of creating a 3D visual platform is the use of augmented reality (AR) technology. AR integrates the digital information and the environment in real time. It uses the real environment and overlays virtual objects on it. The goal of Augmé is to provide a fast, efficient and convenient way to shop for home, office or other spaces. It will not only save users time, but also allow for more accurate customizations to best of their liking.

My Process

Before designing anything, I started with some background research and conducted surveys to get a sense of my target audience. Next, I did some user interviews to understand the needs of my users which then allowed me to create a MVP. Then, I created a site map and experimented with some example user flows. When I felt like I had a strong understanding of what this app needed to be, I started with the sketches and wireframes. After some user testing with the Low-Fi, I adjusted my roughs and created my Hi-Fi.
