# NARS Lab
An app built on Logan's **Meta-Analytical Language for Ideologies**: a framework of variables (N, A, R, S and friends) and equations for predicting how people, pairs, groups and belief systems hold up under pressure.
## What's in here
| Path | What it is |
|---|---|
| `framework/Meta-Analytical Language for Ideologies.pdf` | Logan's original 14 handwritten pages. The source of truth. |
| `framework/framework.json` | Full transcription: variables and their colours, every equation with page references, the human-readable tests, ideology stress tests, predictive models, and `app_interpretation` (every threshold and mapping the app uses, plus Logan's decisions and the version history). |
| `framework/app/nars-lab.html` | The whole app in one file. Published as a claude.ai Artifact. |
| `framework/app/sweep.js` | Playwright sweep: thousands of input combinations, text fuzzing, bad saved data, blocked storage, 320 px screens. |
| `framework/app/check-test.js` | Walks the 30-second check and verifies all 675 answer combinations against the person rule. |
| `framework/app/clash-test.js` | Walks "Will we clash?" and verifies all 225 answer combinations against the pair rule. |
| `framework/app/test-report.md` | What was tested and what was found. |
| `framework/app/calibration-cases.md` | The worked examples and the open threshold questions for Logan. |
## The app, in one paragraph
It opens on the **30-second check**: five tap questions that map onto the person reading and return one of three states (Steady, Bending, Snapping) with a share card and one thing to try. A second mode, **Will we clash?**, runs two people through two taps each on one phone. "Go deeper" opens the full lab: Person (collapse and suffering, with check-ins tracked over time), Two people (conflict), Group (group collapse), Beliefs (stress tests and resilience) and a Key of every symbol and equation.
## Ground rules
- The equations are Logan's. Thresholds and plain-language mappings live in `framework.json → app_interpretation` and can be tuned; the equations themselves are not changed without Logan's say-so.
- Every quantity uses a 0–100 scale (Logan's decision, 2026-10-05).
- Re-run the three test scripts after any change to the app.
## Running the tests
Needs Node and Playwright with Chromium.
cd framework/app
# wrap the page in a document skeleton the way the Artifact host does
(echo '<!doctype html><html><head><meta charset="utf-8"><meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width,initial-scale=1,viewport-fit=cover"><style>[hidden]{display:none!important}</style></head><body>'; cat nars-lab.html; echo '</body></html>') > preview.html
PREVIEW=preview.html node sweep.js
node check-test.js
node clash-test.js
## Public version
The formulas never go public. `public/` holds a version for a real domain where the scoring runs on a server and the page never sees a variable. See `public/README.md` for the layout and the deploy steps. This repository stays private.

Single-file app turning an analytical framework into a 30-second check, a two-person "Will we clash?" mode and a lab view, backed by Playwright sweeps.
