An example of the videos I make and 3D models.
The video is devoted to the Tupolev ANT-25 airplane. The story is based on a 1937 Arctic flight from the USSR to the USA, which turned into a detective story and a big political game. US-Soviet 1930s relations, which are rarely mentioned. Soviet harsh reality vs. the propaganda picture and much more.
I created models and animations in Blender. Combined videos in DaVinci Resolve.
I used the MakeHuman project add-on for Blender for character creation. I also benefited from the AI site https://huggingface.co/spaces/ilcve21/Sparc3D that makes 3D scans. I used automatic retopology add-ons to turn them into proper models.
I modeled clothes and uniform elements all on my own. I animated the characters using mixamo.com. To texturize weapons, I used simple photo-based PBR materials or created separate PBR materials (metal revolver). Such models are good for a video because there is no close angle, but the picture becomes more realistic. For more complex textures, such as airplanes or cars, I use complex PBR or procedural materials.
