My mum has a shop in Accra Tudu, and before school I always pass by before heading to the bus station. This time she decided to carry my provisions on her head and escort me to the station, even after I refused (she can be very dramatic 😂). Around us were kaya girls offering to carry loads, and that's what got me curious about headpans in the first place. Read the article, check it out.

I've always loved the simple things, taking trotro, seeing a woman selling by the street, greeting an old woman and getting that "my daughter" energy back. I love African culture, the way we live, but growing up I didn't always have access to these things so I made sure to include them here. So I decided to write about trotros and damfos to give it a beautiful Nigerian blend too.

On my way to class one day, I saw this amazing woman set up under a tree a couple meters from my hostel. Just a table, a basin, and whatever equipment you can see in the image. She had nothing much but she was willing to work with it. That exactly is a story worth telling, so I interviewed her and featured her in the article. Go check it out

Years ago I visited my grandma in Juapong and met this girl, Mansa, crying behind our house. Fast forward, I wrote an article about it for a reproductive rights competition. The story in the article is exactly as I witnessed it that day, a 15 year old pregnant girl going through maltreatment.
