Got a free month of Claude Code, and have made the most of it. I wonder if designers would find this extension useful - let me know, I'm thinking of open-sourcing it. Currently upgrading it and trying to add a Figma plugin addition too.
Essentially, it's a reverse engineering tool. Most things these days are idea to design based, but I wanted to go from production grade design understanding BACK to Figma or code. So i made a chrome extension that does that.
I select any page element on any site and I get all sorts of outputs:
- svg wireframe with Figma recreation instructions
- AI prompt to guide LLMs on rebuilding components or layouts
- All the code outputs Tailwind, React Components ETC.
Trying to think of a way to combine this with my raycast-style design library tool.

I wanted my own Raycast-like design tool that I could pop open with a hotkey combo while working on any project. So I vibed it into existence on my mac in a single day. Opus 4.5 is no joke.
Some minor flaws but loving it so far.
For anyone wondering I made this with Claude Code using this workflow:
1. Discuss the project idea and initialized the Xcode project (Swift + Swift UI based) - Opus did this without issue.
2. Brainstormed the workflow pattern in plan mode with Claude for the best path to get all features working as expected
3. Build one feature at a time, frequently unit & integration test them, then commit to a proper branched git repo.
4. Also, if i thought Opus wasn't fully seeing the vision, I'd have Gemini 3 run double checks or give its own ideas.
Highly recommend trying this out, build your own tools!

Exploring some AI style branding today. Using this amazing color palette tool I've had saved for a while - https://meodai.github.io/poline/.

Today's design experiment in Figma: AI interactions.
I love Claude's 'quick' widget on Mac that sticks to the top tool bar/icon bar. I imagine those will start to become the norm in AI tools. No need to go to the website or even fully open the software, just open a quick widget and interact with them right away.
Bonus points for every additional feature added to boost the UX - things like speech detection, connectors to your favourite apps and other AI tools.
Hope you like it. Happy Sunday.

Just updated my portfolio website, gave it that minimalistic, straight-to-the-point special - cause people don't got time for all that in 2025. Think I'm finally satisfied with it.
This should last until I'm inspired yet again by some crazy Awwwards level site 😂. Check it out here mattjmdesign.com (https://www.mattjmdesign.com/).
