Lisa Mele's Work | ContraWork by Lisa MeleLisa Mele
Seasoned Marketing Executive that has done it all.
A selection of my long-form writing across two worlds: magazine features and research-driven thought leadership.
Features: For Lux Lifestyle Magazine, I report and write cover-level stories on luxury, travel and the people behind them. "Run for the Roses" takes readers inside the luxury side of the Kentucky Derby through interviews with Churchill Downs, Woodford Reserve's Master Distiller and a milliner to Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. "House of Zhivago" profiles a founder building cruelty-free luxury fashion. Twelve cover stories across three magazines.
Thought leadership: For SoftwarePricing Partners, I turned complex, data-heavy topics, like AI pricing models and monetization, into clear, readable guidance for executives. This content was part of a program that grew the firm's share of AI search citations from 26% to 42% in eight weeks.
What ties it together: finding the human story inside the research, and writing it so people read to the end. This was a cover story for a national magazine on Zhivago. A top luxury brand in the US and Europe. Hi Contra! đź‘‹ I'm Lisa, a marketing strategist and writer.
I spent 15+ years leading marketing in tech. Most recently that was at SoftwarePricing Partners, a consultancy that advises software and AI companies, where I built the brand and thought leadership program and grew inbound pipeline 70%. Before that, I was one of HubSpot's first 50 customers.
That background shapes how I approach every client: clear strategy, real data, and an early read on where marketing is heading, especially AI search.
Now I bring that to businesses of all kinds: brand and messaging, content, email, SEO, and making sure customers (and AI tools) can find you. And because I'm also a published feature writer, the words get done too.
Open to new clients. Say hi! This was a cover story for Lux Lifestyle Magazine. I came up with content idea, the interviews, and did a full editorial on Churchill downs, Woodford Reserve, and the derby itself.
