A short audio piece on why summer heat hits dogs harder than it hits us, and how we can prevent heat exhaustion. Written, recorded, and edited entirely in Audacity, including sourcing and mixing royalty-free sound effects for the intro and transitions. My first solo podcast project.

Beginning 101 came from a personal passion for starting new things — I built it to unlearn the hustle-culture idea that a hobby only "counts" if you're good at it or can monetize it. Using backwards design, I mapped the course from the end goal (people actually trying something new) back through building confidence, then a real follow-through plan, with every module following the same structure so learners always know what to expect. I built it first in Canvas, then rebuilt it in Google Sites for public access, swapping Canvas's submission tools for embedded Google Forms, and applied accessibility practices like alt text and captions throughout. This was my first time owning a course end to end — subject matter expert, instructional designer, and builder, all in one.

With a small group, I designed a three-part virtual team-building experience centered on jollof rice, a dish with deep cultural significance across West Africa — progressing from cultural context, to regional variations, to a hands-on cooking activity. I designed Section 3, the hands-on cooking portion: writing the learning objective, building two parallel recipe formats (a checklist worksheet and a step-by-step slide deck) to fit different learner preferences, and creating a self-grading rubric with reflection questions. Some supporting materials were developed with AI assistance and adapted to fit the course's needs.

Currently working on a collaborative project: a walkthrough video demonstrating key features of a platform and the use case for each one. I used ChatGPT to generate the background image, the Snipping Tool for screencasts, and DaVinci Resolve to edit it all together.
