Inside the Creative Process: 3D, Nodes, and 2D Finishing
While the final animation is live in my Work section, I wanted to show you the actual steps of how this "Forest Spirit" was born. This project was a deep dive into different technical and artistic approaches.
What I’m sharing in this breakdown:
Real-time Viewport vs. Final Render: I’ve uploaded videos showing how the model looks directly in Blender’s viewport compared to the final lighting setup. It’s important to see how the character holds up in various display modes.
Shader & Node Magic: You can see a glimpse of my node tree in the Shader Editor. This is where I created the procedural textures and the bioluminescent glow for the mushroom cap.
Krita Post-Processing: I don't just stop at the 3D render. I’ve included a look at how I used Krita to refine the final image, adjusting the colors and adding that extra layer of "fairytale" atmosphere that 3D alone sometimes can't capture.
For me, 3D art is about the bridge between technical precision in Blender and artistic touch in Krita.

3D Character "Forest Spirit" — From Modeling to Animation
In this project, I completed the full cycle of character creation:
Modeling: All shapes and forms were created from scratch in Blender. I manually built the geometry for both the character and the environment.
Texturing & Shader Editor: I focused specifically on materials and node setups to achieve that soft, "fairytale" glow on the mushroom cap.
Graphics: I used Krita for detailed texture work and final touch-ups of the elements.
Presentation: The final work is presented in video format to showcase the depth, lighting, and overall atmosphere of the scene
