Kas is ready for their next project!

I got to craft a compelling narrative and visual tone for The Laundromat Project's Liberation Series, an artist-led monthly gathering that invites Bed-Stuy neighbors of all ages to enjoy communal artmaking, eat delicious food by local vendors, and reflect on the ways freedom shows up in our everyday lives. To prepare for our first event in February 2026, I made a series of promotional videos to reach new audiences and get The LP Fam HYPE! This resulted in a significant increase in RSVPs of over 280% in since November 2025! Check out an example of a promo video I shot and edited. It's safe to say the camera and I are meant to be! https://www.instagram.com/p/DT2jf5fDe8h/ Graphic Designer: Lori Evelyn Editor: Kas Merriwether Talent: Kas Merriwether

Artists are seeding just futures built for us, by US. The Laundromat Project's annual fundraising campaign, People-Powered, garners vital resources for New York City's artists of color, who are charting the path to liberation through their community-rooted projects. Here's how we pitched that new world we're seeding, garnering over $68k in resources for artists: People-Powered Day 8 (https://www.instagram.com/reel/DQPL-RMDzu8/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=a56e3668-b4a7-438a-9d59-177632c1a45a)

Work hard, party harder! The Laundromat Project closed out People-Powered, their annual peer-fundraising campaign, with a bangin' celebration featuring New Orleans' very own Big Freedia, Queen of Bounce! We had to turn up our marketing to match this queen's undeniable exuberance. Check it out: 1. Twenty years, four women, one story of love and resilience. As part of its Twentieth Anniversary programming, Echoes of the Seed was The Laundromat Project's living celebration of art, artists, memory, resilience, and collective world-building. Together, we traversed the past, present, and future to discover how The LP’s first visionaries sowed art, connection, legacy, self-determination, and creative power to transform lives and communities. We’re so grateful to our visionary panelists who helped plant the earliest seeds of The LP’s work, including the legendary artist and scholar Dr. Deborah Willis! Reflecting on this inspiring narrative, I completed with Nu Africa Foundation! Such a joy to tell Nile's story and shed light on Brooklyn's legacy of radical collectivism, which blossoms between Black neighbors, artists, and cultural stewards each day. Bring back SUMMER! The Laundromat Project's fellowship program brought artists to the streets of Bed-Stuy to envision a world where creativity meets community-based practices to challenge systems of inequity. Think: art + community = upward spiral to just and sustainable futures. Check out the social recap video I made to capture The LP's brilliant Fellows' projects: https://youtu.be/5aUIY6-a5fQ
