Meet Joseph

Servers, pipelines and fleet changes should be predictable. When they aren't, I find out why, fix it, and leave your team documentation it can reuse.

I'm a Linux and DevOps engineer with 12 years across GitHub (Microsoft), SAP and Walmart: production troubleshooting, Linux fleets of thousands of nodes, automation, and CI/CD reliability.

What I help with:
• Linux server upgrades and migrations, including end-of-life Ubuntu and PHP 5 to supported Ubuntu and PHP 8, with a tested rollback plan
• Server hardening, patching and configuration with Ansible
• GitHub Actions reliability: failing or queued jobs, self-hosted runners, permissions, caching, secrets and workflow security
• Docker, networking, DNS, TLS, API and authentication troubleshooting
• Monitoring and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana and Datadog
• Python and Bash automation, incident triage, root-cause analysis and runbooks

Highlights:
• Saved over $2M by automating Walmart's server decommissioning process
• Wrote Ansible playbooks for hardening and patching across thousands of SAP production nodes
• Four years resolving Tier-3 escalations for GitHub's enterprise customers

How I work: a clearly bounded scope before work starts, findings ranked by risk, changes made with a rollback path, and short progress updates. Most assessments can be done from sanitized files or read-only access.

Send me the server, workflow or failure you're dealing with, and I'll suggest a focused first step.
