Instagram Reels for physician led health publication
I edit his Instagram reels as part of the content and automation system I built for the publication.
- What I produce
B-roll reels: Short clips with on-screen hook text, each built from a long-form article on topics like blood pressure, PPI side effects, sunscreen, home birth and shift work.
Podcast clip reels: Cut-downs of guest interviews, built around the single strongest idea from each episode.
- How the reels convert
Each reel ends with a comment-keyword CTA (such as BIRTH, SHIFT or STACK) instead of a link in bio. When a viewer comments the keyword, a GoHighLevel automation sends them the article or episode by DM. That turns each reel into an entry point to the publication's subscriber funnel.
My role
1. Picked the article or episode angle for each reel and wrote the hook text
2. Edited the reels and on-screen text
3. Built the ManyChat keyword DM automations that each reel's CTA triggers
4. Tracked the reels in a Notion content calendar alongside the publication's carousels and posts A Nissan dealership with showrooms in West India needed launch videos for the new Nissan TEKTON. I directed two AI-generated video ads in Runway & ChatGPT, each aimed at a different buyer.
- Festive offer ad (9:16)
This is a premium, warm-toned walkthrough of the car timed to the festive season. Animated callouts (a dot, a leader line and a label) point to the features buyers care about: the Patrol-inspired grille, C-shaped LED lamps, R18 alloys, panoramic sunroof, tri-tone cabin, Google built-in, 17+ ADAS features and 5-star Bharat NCAP safety. It ends on the festive offer and the dealership's contact details.
- Off-road ad (9:16)
This is a bold, gritty vertical cut for adventure buyers on Reels and Shorts. It focuses on 212mm ground clearance, approach and departure angles, 280Nm torque, hill descent control and traction aids, shot against mountain trails, dust and rock.
My role:
1. Took every feature, spec and offer detail from the official brochure and offer creative
2. Wrote the shot list, camera direction and visual style for both ads
3. Wrote the generation prompts and kept claims accurate to the car's real capability, so the off-road ad didn't oversell it
4. Planned the text overlays for post-production, so prices, offers and phone numbers render correctly Content Strategy & Marketing Automation for a Physician-Led Substack
Client: A physician-authored health publication
Role: Content Strategist & Marketing Automation Builder
Overview
Foundational Health is a physician-led Substack publication. I was brought on to turn a strong body of medical writing into a repeatable growth engine, building the content system, the automation behind it, and the analytics loop that tells us what actually converts paid subscribers.
I own the publication's content pipeline end to end: Substack strategy, Instagram content and DM automation in GoHighLevel, and the email marketing sequences, all produced in the author's voice.
What I Built
Data-driven content strategy
Ran a full analysis of 241 published Substack posts against email and conversion stats to find what drives paid subscriptions.
Identified that named-condition posts (e.g. specific conditions and protocols) and first-person transformation stories convert paid subscribers most efficiently and rebuilt the content calendar around that insight.
Documented findings in a Notion conversion-analysis page that now guides every content decision.
Content production system
Produce full content batches from each article: Instagram carousels, image posts, Substack notes, and link posts.
Run an ongoing reel format (short b-roll clip + on-screen hook + comment/DM call-to-action) designed to feed the automation rather than rely on link-in-bio.
Produce podcast clip reels from guest episodes.
Coverage to date spans articles on blood pressure, PPI side effects, home birth, sunscreen, and a shift worker's guide.
Marketing automation (GoHighLevel)
Built Instagram DM automation triggered by comment keywords that delivers the right article to the right reader automatically.
Designed sequenced follow-ups, e.g. deliver the article first, then the paired podcast episode a couple of hours later, to warm readers before the ask.
Email marketing
Wrote onboarding and nurture sequences in the author's voice.
Executed a full email migration from GoHighLevel to native Substack, consolidating the stack and cutting tool overhead.
Built the launch email sequence for the publication's first live monthly paid-subscriber Q&A session.
Central operations hub (Notion)
Built and populated a complete Notion workspace as the single source of truth:
Content calendar and Substack content board
Reader testimonials database (500+ entries)
Content strategy and conversion-analysis pages
Email marketing sequence library
