Senior Go Developer | Scalable Backend Systems
Shipped a live suite of developer utility tools — JSON formatter, validator, minifier, and diff checker; XML formatter/minifier/converter; encoding/decoding tools; UUID generation; and text-processing utilities.
Owned the project end-to-end: logic, parsing and conversion algorithms, and deployment, with all processing handled client-side rather than relying on server calls — a deliberate choice for data privacy and speed. Architected and implemented the backend ingestion platform, processing OS events including
CPU/memory utilization, disk and partition changes, application lifecycle events, and system reliability
metrics.
Designed an event-driven microservices architecture using Golang and NATS to reliably ingest, route,
process and persist endpoint telemetry.
Developed the DEX Plugin to monitor transient directories, classify event, daily-upload and on-demand
payloads, and publish data to dedicated NATS subjects with retry and duplicate-detection mechanisms.
Developed the DEX FillDB service using NATS consumers and configurable worker pools for concurrent
processing and scalable database ingestion.
Implemented schema-based JSON validation for multiple telemetry types before persistence, ensuring data
integrity and preventing malformed payloads from reaching downstream databases.
Designed reliable message-processing workflows covering failure handling, retries, acknowledgment and
message lifecycle management.
Developed the DEX Server exposing backend APIs consumed by frontend applications for retrieving and
visualizing endpoint telemetry and DEX analytics.
Applied distributed-systems engineering practices including concurrency, fault tolerance, observability,
scalability and production debugging. Designed and implemented an event-driven architecture using NATS to replace tightly coupled HTTP-based service-to-service communication. Modernized the United Kingdom Post Office’s outdated IT infrastructure, transitioning to a contemporary platform that seamlessly supports operations across a robust network of over 11,000 branches nationwide. Developed a robust Post Office application leveraging Golang and Node.js for backend operations and React as the frontend framework; ensured seamless processing of over 50,000 daily transactions across 11,000 branches.
