Dreamy motion echo effect, built in invideo Editor. Moving subjects drag a fading trail of ghosts behind them while the action plays back slowed and stepped, so the movement reads thick and dreamlike. The trail is built from stacked copies of the source clip, each offset to show an earlier frame. I directed invideo's editing agent to build the layer work on the timeline, then refined the trail weight, timing, colour treatment and camera shake by hand. This is my submission for the Agentic Effects challenge. I used six black and white clips: a man adjusting his hat, a dog on the ground, an abandoned dome building, the man again, the dog again, and fire. Here, I built two custom effects directly in Invideo Editor. The first is a Difference Offset transition at every cut, stacking duplicate layers with slight scale and position changes blended on Difference. The second is a CRT Signal Break that appears once per clip, with flickering grades, color fringing, scanlines, and flash frames. For the finishing touch, I added synced SFX for every transition and glitch, plus one background track that slowly breaks down from calm to full distortion by the end. Livi likes watching the world with her headphones on. Riding through open fields, she notices a record store standing alone in the meadow and decides to stop. Nearby, she meets Halmo, a stranger waiting at an isolated bus stop. A shared interest in music gives them a reason to talk, and they head inside together. While browsing, they notice a record cover change into a photo of the two of them, taken just moments earlier. Nobody else is in sight. Neither saw a camera. In a place this empty, someone seems to know they’re here. And what does Livi really know about the stranger beside her? I created the film using Cantina, with original characters and a dreamlike setting. I combined vintage clothing, open landscapes, and a warm record store interior to make the world feel familiar but slightly strange.
