Led a country-wide strategic planning and change management process in Liberia as part of the transition towards integration between Oxfam GB and Oxfam International. The three-month process involved approximately 40 staff, including five international staff, government and local partners, with specialist consultants supporting selected areas. I led the major part of the process, resulting in a new country strategy launched in January 2011 and significant organisational restructuring implemented throughout the year. A key challenge was managing staff resistance and demotivation during the transition.

Led the strategic and operational management of a €1 million rural livelihood development programme in Homs, Syria, supporting 140 vulnerable families, including female-headed households and families with persons with disabilities. The programme included bakery development, animal husbandry, vocational training with business start-up support and organic farming. I managed seven professional staff and worked with LAMSA and local NGO partners. Despite security and access challenges, 100% of targeted beneficiaries were reached.

Led the strategic and operational management of a €3 million EU-funded protection programme supporting more than 800 survivor women from the Yazidi community in Iraq. The programme provided psychosocial support, protection services, livelihoods support, vocational training, legal assistance and referrals for medical support. As Country Director, I led approximately 20 staff and worked with a local NGO partner on legal assistance, while managing significant security, access and sensitive-data challenges.

Led Save the Children’s humanitarian response in Yemen during a period of severe conflict, including evacuation, relocation and remote management. As Country Director, I provided strategic and operational leadership for a Category 2 humanitarian response. During 2014–2017, I helped scale the country portfolio from approximately US$20 million to over US$100 million, expanding programme reach to more than 1 million children while navigating significant security and access challenges.
