For this design, I brought the Studio Kalili website to life using Squarespace's Finish Layer by layering in subtle animation across the page to turn a static layout into something that feels considered and dynamic without overwhelming the content. The most intentional use of Finish Layer is the two-image interaction illustrating the core idea behind the studio's work: closing the gap. One image enters from the left, the other from the right, moving quickly at first and then easing as they meet in the center — fast enough to catch attention, slow enough to let the reader stay with the copy. From there, hover states on buttons, text, and large images, plus scroll-triggered entrances, guide the eye down the page and give every interactive element a small, deliberate moment of response. Squarespace's Finish Layer was used to add polished interactions across the website, creating a more dynamic browsing experience. Each interaction supports the overall experience while preserving the calm, editorial character of the Studio Kalili brand. How often do you get to work on projects that are genuinely fun and creatively challenging? 🚀 Another year in, and I’m incredibly grateful to keep collaborating with Contra on promo videos, handling motion graphics + sound design 🎛️✨ This one was especially fun to build. Huge shoutout to @Erin Horner for the beautiful designs 👏 Always great working with a team that values craft and experimentation.

I almost didn't post this. Not because it's bad. Because it's personal. There's no client name attached. No brand guidelines I followed. No Slack thread with 47 rounds of feedback. Just me, a blank canvas, and a feeling I couldn't explain in words. So I designed it instead. Here's something nobody warns you about when you become a designer: the more client work you take on, the further you drift from the reason you started. You get good at solving other people's problems. You forget what your own creative voice sounds like. This piece brought it back. I sat down with zero expectations. No moodboard. No Pinterest tab with 200 pins. I just started moving shapes, pulling colors, trusting my gut. And somewhere between the third iteration and the fifth coffee, something clicked. It felt like the first time I ever opened a design tool and thought, "I could do this forever." If you're a creative who hasn't made something purely for yourself in a while, this is your sign. Not for your portfolio. Not for the algorithm. Not for a client. For you. What's the last thing you created just because you wanted to? Drop it below. I genuinely want to see it.

Recently finished this real estate video edit for a client who had one very clear direction: “No fancy edits.” The goal wasn’t to overwhelm the viewer with transitions, effects, or unnecessary motion. His audience is made up of high-end clients, so the edit needed to feel exactly like the property itself, clean, refined, confident, and easy to understand. I focused on intentional pacing, clean cuts, subtle motion, strong visual hierarchy, and letting the property do the talking. Because sometimes, premium doesn’t need to shout. It simply needs to feel right. Have a property, real estate brand, or luxury listing that needs this kind of treatment? DM me. Let’s make your next video feel expensive without making it complicated.

Afrobeats at Sea 2027 — Promotional Video Ad Case Study The Afrobeats at Sea 2027 project involved the editing and creative direction of a high-energy promotional video campaign designed to market a luxury Afrobeat cruise experience. The objective was to create a visually immersive short-form advertisement capable of generating excitement, emotional anticipation, and strong audience engagement within a limited 40-second runtime. The final video was crafted to feel less like a traditional advertisement and more like a cinematic cultural experience, blending music, rhythm, lifestyle visuals, and fast-paced storytelling to capture the essence of Afrobeats culture and nightlife at sea.

Envato AI gave me a house. It took human instinct to turn it into a home. For the #envatochallenge, I wanted to put the "Human by Design" philosophy to the test by creating a complete premium brand identity for House of Racky. My goal was to use Envato’s creative toolkit to push past the cold, mathematically sterile outputs of AI and inject real emotional luxury into the visual assets. The Process: The Spark: I used AI generation to start exploring shapes, but the initial outputs felt emotionally empty and lacked structural balance. The Human Touch (My 'Human by Design' Moment): I stripped out the generic, messy layouts and manually rebuilt the logo's geometric structure in my design suite. I chose a sophisticated, sharp custom typography layout to bridge the gap between high-end architecture and human warmth. The Final Polish: Using Envato Elements, I sourced cinematic stock footage, deep Foley sound design effects, and professional mockups to build a fully realized brand ecosystem that feels grounded in the real world. AI is an incredible starting block, but it takes human taste, eye for detail, and instinct to make a brand truly powerful. Check out the full workflow breakdown and the final high-res brand kit below 👇

The Long Run is a film pitch trailer built entirely with generative AI, created to help a client sell a feature film to potential backers and collaborators. The core challenge was consistency: the story's hero truck needed to look and read identically across dozens of AI-generated shots, a problem that breaks most AI video pipelines. Rather than jumping straight into generation, I treated the trailer like a short film: adapting the trailer script from the feature screenplay, designing consistent characters, and building out full storyboards before touching video generation tools like Higgsfield. That upfront process locked the visual language early, kept the truck consistent shot to shot, and meant far fewer wasted generations. The client was thrilled with the final trailer; proof that a filmmaker's process, not just the AI tool, is what makes AI-generated work actually hold together.

I love how things are evolving with AI. It's now at a point where it can really go and give a tool to people to tell their stories. But what AI can't do is taste. Taste will come from the person, the creator. Here's something I tried with Higgsfield.

Created this spec ad for Airbnb type hotels. Created using Higgsfield, Soul Cinema, Cinema Studio and Davinci Resolve. AI is a tricky subject. How do we know that the faces it generates are actually AI and not picked up from the internet.

Made a spec film for an Indian clothing brand, with Indian aesthetics, expressions and framing. Made on Higgsfield Cinema Studio. Did not want a fast film, wanted to see if I could draw out some emotions. Let me know your thoughts.
