Every year during the Ganpati festival, our mandal faced a recurring challenge: managing physical receipt books and inevitably losing track of the previous years' contribution and expense data.
This year, I decided to solve this by taking our mandal fully digital! I developed PavtiPustak-a custom web platform designed to seamlessly track every single contribution and expense. No more lost data, and we are now issuing 100% digital receipts. 🙏✨
🚀 Main Features:
End-to-End Financial Tracking: Accurately logs every rupee coming in (donations) and going out (mandap, decoration, etc.).
Instant Digital Receipts: Automatically generates and shares digital pavtis (receipts), saving paper and time.
Historical Data Retention: Cloud storage ensures we never lose year-over-year records again.
Responsive UI: Fully accessible on mobile for on-the-go tracking by committee members.
💻 Tech Stack:
Frontend: Next.js 16 (App Router), React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS v4, shadcn/ui on Base UI, react-hook-form + Zod. PWA with offline support via a service worker and IndexedDB.
Backend: Next.js Server Actions and Route Handlers — no separate service. Supabase Auth for sessions, Supabase Realtime for live updates.
Database: Supabase (Postgres) with row-level security, audit trails and SQL views.
Hosting: Vercel (Mumbai region), with GitHub Actions CI.
