Visitors scan a monument or QR code to trigger AR animations that reconstruct incomplete artifacts, revealing how they originally looked in their complete form. The project explores how technology can bridge history and modern interaction design, making cultural heritage more engaging and accessible. Project scope included: • Mobile app UI/UX design • Augmented reality interaction flow • Object recognition & QR-based scanning concept • Monument reconstruction through animation • Black & white visual system inspired by hieroglyphs • Visitor guidance stickers with a clear 3-step scan journey

What if a suit of armor became a city? I reimagined Qaitbay’s Mamluk armor as a futuristic metropolis in the year 2200. Rather than simply designing a futuristic city inspired by the armor, I translated its physical structure into an entire urban system. The armor’s 87 individual plates become monumental buildings and districts. The chainmail becomes a network of roads, bridges, and elevated walkways. The central chest plate becomes the city’s palace and architectural heart. Smaller plates become homes, plazas, transportation hubs, and towers, while the original gold ornamentation evolves into glowing infrastructure and illuminated geometric patterns. The final piece brings the city to life vehicles move through its streets, people inhabit its spaces, and the architecture functions as one interconnected organism. The goal was to preserve the visual language and identity of the original 15th-century armor while imagining what its structure could become centuries into the future. Original artwork https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/702966 Process I began with the original Open Access artwork and treated the armor itself as an architectural blueprint. I broke down its plates, chainmail, ornamentation, geometry, and hierarchy, then translated each element into a corresponding part of a futuristic city. The final animation reveals that transformation piece by piece: armor → plates → buildings → chainmail → roads → ornament → infrastructure → city.
