Just finished a project for the Lovable challenge #lovablechallenge: rebuild the booking flow for a fine-line tattoo studio. Meet Atelier Nodi — one owner, Alex, doing literally everything himself in Zurich. He didn't have a booking page. He had 25 DMs a night instead. Alex tattoos 10am to 6pm, hands in gloves, phone untouched. Then he gets home to 25 new DMs a night — most of them "how much for a rose on my arm?" He spends 2-3 hours every single night typing back and forth: size, placement, reference photos, available dates. By the time someone replies, the slot's often gone anyway. And when inquiries do turn into bookings, two things kept blowing up his schedule: - Miscalculated time. Someone says "small forearm piece," books a 1.5-hour slot — then shows up wanting an 18cm wraparound micro-realism piece that needs 4 hours. His whole day shifts, or someone gets turned away after traveling to the studio. - No-shows. Slots held verbally over DM, no deposit, no accountability. CHF 600-800 of empty chair time, in an expensive Zurich studio, more nights than he'd like. So the flow had to replace the decisions he was making manually, not just look nicer than DMs. A 6-step booking modal does the thinking he used to do by hand: 1️⃣ Pick a type of art and a placement on a body diagram 2️⃣ Describe the concept, upload references and play with the placement and size 3️⃣ Get a real price and duration, calculated from actual formulas: surface area ÷ speed factor × placement difficulty (ribs and necks take 30% longer than forearms — skin stretches differently), plus buffers for setup and cover-ups 4️⃣ See the calendar slots that actually fit that exact time block 5️⃣ Pay a CHF 150 deposit to lock it 6️⃣ Get instant confirmation, a calendar invite, and prep rules (no alcohol, no blood thinners) so nobody shows up and gets turned away on the spot What this actually removes from Alex's night: every calculation he used to do in his head after a 12-hour day — sizing, pricing, chasing deposits, writing confirmation emails. He opens his schedule in the morning to a confirmed name, a paid deposit, and reference photos already attached. The client side still had to feel right too — editorial layout, a cursor that leaves a faint ink trail — because someone booking a fine-line piece is choosing craftsmanship, and the site needed to look like it. But that part was in service of the real goal: an owner who stops losing his evenings to his own booking process. Explore the final product: https://atelier-nodi.lovable.app

Behind the visuals: a client portal with a weekly post plan and approval per post, the Make scenario that runs the pipeline, and my company website with technical SEO. Data in Supabase with PostgreSQL, publishing through the Meta Graph API.
