Your 404 page might be costing you users 👾
When a site breaks, error, no connection, empty state, people feel lost and don't know what to do next. That's why I believe illustrated error states are an important part of the product, not just a nice-to-have:
- They show exactly what went wrong
- They ease frustration
- They hint at what to do next
Sometimes they even make people willing to wait it out. A gray "Error 404" text is a missed opportunity. An on-brand illustration turns a moment of annoyance into a moment of trust.
That's why I design custom illustrated error states for my clients, built around their brand style.
