Your website can rank on Google and still miss opportunities to appear in AI-generated answers.
That's why I'm looking at SEO through a broader lens.
Traditional SEO helps search engines discover, understand, and rank your pages.
AI search visibility adds another important question:
𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱, 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀?
When I audit a website, I look beyond rankings and keywords.
Here's what deserves attention:
→ 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗘𝗢: Can search engines crawl and index your important pages?
→ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Does your content answer real user questions clearly and completely?
→ 𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆: Does your website demonstrate meaningful expertise in your niche?
→ 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: Is your brand, its expertise, and its information clearly represented across relevant sources?
→ 𝗔𝗜 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Does your brand appear in relevant answers across AI search experiences, and are the sources attributable?
→ 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Are you tracking organic performance and AI visibility separately?
There is no magic AI SEO trick. Strong technical foundations, helpful content, clear brand information, and consistent measurement still matter.
The opportunity is to understand where your website is visible, where it's missing, and what to fix first.
I'm focusing on 𝗔𝗜 𝗦𝗘𝗢 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘀 & 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 to help businesses answer exactly these questions.
𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Have you checked whether your brand appears when people ask AI tools for recommendations in your industry?

Good list. On measurement, it helps to run the same set of prompts every month in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini and log which sources they cite. The citations often point to third-party pages like reviews, directories and forums more than your own site, which shows where the entity work should go.
