Honestly, most of my clients didn't come from Contra itself initially. I'd connect with them outside the platform first, build the relationship, then bring the work through Contra. That way you're not competing with 50 other applicants on a job board.

Honestly my path was design-specific so I can't speak to VA work directly on there. But the thing that moved the needle for me wasn't the platform, most of my clients I met elsewhere first, then brought the work onto Contra. Relationship first, platform second.
