Cursor-based hover instead of a baked loop is the right call here, it makes the whole thing feel alive rather than looping on repeat. How long did it take to get the lighting to read as golden hour without looking washed out?
The warm interior gives the orb a believable setting, and tying it to a status panel gives the interaction a purpose. How are you adapting the hover interaction for touch screens — tap to reveal the controls?

Tough choice my friend....I like option A since it has overall harmony between the background and foreground...so overall, A is very nice....option be has a very amazing zoom motion which is also great....However, Option A is my choice.
