Finances — Freelancer Finance Manager
A personal finance web app built for freelancers to track income, expenses, cash flow, forecasting, and annual goals — all in one place.
What existed before the challenge:
The core app was built in early 2026, starting from a Google Sheets template. It included Dashboard, Income, Expenses, Cashflow, Forecasting, and Annual summary.
What was built or changed during the challenge:
Full email/password authentication with per-user data isolation
Multi-user support — new users start with empty data, existing data assigned to original account
Bank Excel import in Clashflow — reads bank export format (DD-MMM-YY dates, European number format), auto-creates matching Income/Expense records
Dynamic expense categories — users can add/remove categories, synced across the expenses page
Inline cell editing across Ingresos, Gastos, and Flujo de Caja — tap any cell to edit
Multi-row delete with checkbox selection
Dashboard month/year selector — filter all KPIs and charts by any period
expenses per category donut chart with legend
Profile photo upload and user email display in sidebar
Language toggle (Spanish/English US) persisted per user
Deletion propagation — deleting a clashflow row removes the linked Income/Expense record

Project Story: AI Finance Assistant
The idea for AI Finance Assistant came from a simple observation: many people want to manage their money better, but most finance apps overwhelm users with charts, numbers, and complex financial terminology.
I wanted to explore how artificial intelligence could make personal finance feel more approachable, conversational, and supportive.
The concept began as a mobile experience where users could not only track their finances but also interact with an AI assistant capable of providing personalized financial guidance.
The project started with a broad question:
“How might we make financial management feel less intimidating and more helpful?”
This is where Stitch became an important part of my workflow.
Instead of immediately focusing on colors, screens, and visual details, Stitch helped me think through the structure of the experience. I used it during the early stages of ideation to explore user flows, screen organization, and information hierarchy.
Stitch helped me rapidly experiment with:
• Dashboard layouts
• Analytics structures
• AI chat experiences
• User navigation patterns
• Feature prioritization
By accelerating the planning stage, I was able to spend more time refining the actual user experience in Figma.
The final concept includes three primary experiences:
Dashboard:
A clean financial overview showing balances, spending trends, and AI-generated recommendations.
AI Assistant:
A conversational interface where users can ask financial questions and receive personalized suggestions.
Analytics:
A visual breakdown of spending behavior with smart insights designed to help users make better financial decisions.
One of the key design decisions was creating a modern fintech aesthetic using dark themes, gradient accents, glassmorphism-inspired cards, and smooth prototype transitions.
The project also incorporates interaction design through animated navigation and screen transitions to create a realistic product experience.
The biggest lesson from this project was understanding that great products begin with clear problem-solving before visual design.
Stitch helped accelerate the transition from idea to structure, while Figma enabled me to transform those ideas into a fully interactive prototype.
As a beginner UI/UX designer, this project strengthened my understanding of product thinking, user-centered design, prototyping, and how AI tools can support the creative process without replacing it.

AI Personal Media Plan Generator — Built with Google Stitch
I built an AI-powered media plan generator that helps people and companies get a personalized media placement plan delivered straight to their inbox — in minutes, not days.
The tool works like this: a user fills out a simple form with their name, email, company website, industry, budget, and a few more data. That data flows into Google Sheets and Google Apps Script triggers an LLM (using OpenAI API and PRNEWS API) to generate a tailored media plan, and automatically sends a personalized email with relevant media placement recommendations and direct links to purchase placements in our catalog.
How I used Google Stitch:
Google Stitch was the core of the front-end creation process. Using Claude to craft a strong prompt, I generated the full visual interface in 10–15 minutes — complete with corporate colors, brand fonts, logo placement, and a clean content structure. What would normally take hours of design and dev work was done before lunch. I then deployed it live on the PRNEWS domain, making it immediately usable for real customers.
Stitch features used:
(1) Streaming generation directly to canvas; (2) Prompt-driven UI creation from a detailed brief; (3) HTML-native rendering for a polished, deployable result
The result is a fully working product that's live, customer-facing, and already generating leads — not just a prototype.
