Project Title: VAI Portal – Global Radiology Second Opinion & Consultation Ecosystem
Overview I architected and developed VAI Portal, a high-performance healthcare ecosystem designed to bridge the gap between patients in Bangladesh and expert radiologists in the USA. The platform streamlines the process of sharing complex medical imaging (MRI/DICOM) for expert second opinions and facilitates real-time virtual consultations.
The Problem International patients often face significant hurdles when seeking expert medical opinions across borders—manual file sharing is insecure, slow, and lacks a centralized workflow for radiologists to manage high volumes of MRI/DICOM reports.
The Solution I built a secure, end-to-end web portal that prioritizes both patient accessibility and clinical efficiency.
Secure Patient Dashboard: Patients can easily upload medical reports and DICOM images through a simplified interface.
Radiologist Workflow: A specialized backend for the US-based expert to review cases, submit second opinions, and manage patient appointments.
Virtual Consultations: Integrated a seamless consultation module for face-to-face expert advice via the web.
Performance First: Optimized the entire Next.js frontend to achieve a 95+ Lighthouse performance score, ensuring the app remains snappy even when handling heavy medical data.
Tech Stack & Tools
Frontend: Next.js, TypeScript, ShadcnUI, Tailwind CSS.
Backend: Django (Python), MySQL.
Key Features: Secure Authentication, DICOM integration, RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), and Responsive Dashboards.
The Result The VAI Portal has successfully transformed a manual, fragmented process into a professional digital ecosystem, making world-class radiological expertise accessible to patients regardless of their geographical location.
