With summer being here, recent pub outings with friends and watching people sipping on an Aperol Spritz, I felt inspired to create something for this cocktail.
Admittedly, I’d much rather a Hugo Spritz (or better yet, pass me a frozen marg!) but who can resist the call of the Aperol announcing that summer is well and truly here?!
This went through a few backgrounds until I landed on something I really liked. Bonus, you get to see my brain dump scribbles 😅😅

I enjoy creating work in series.
At some point in the past, I decided to create hand-lettered designs for some of my favorite types of wine.
I started with simple hand-drawn sketches on paper and later developed them into vector graphics. Then, I created Art Deco-inspired posters for each of them. I also painted the grapes myself, using acrylic paint on canvas.

Poster design sets have become my preferred format for creative practice. They're small enough to fit between client projects, and let me experiment with type, texture, and color in a more fluid way. This set is inspired by four of my favorite Bump of Chicken songs, a J-Rock band I discovered a couple of years ago after becoming obsessed with the Spy x Family intro!
