Fineprint: a booking system for a solo tattoo artist, built around the cancelled slot
Tara D'Souza is a fine-line tattoo artist in Bandra West, Mumbai, with one chair. She gets about 40 DMs a week asking "how much?" and "are you free Saturday?", spends around 90 minutes a day quoting, and loses 1 in 4 sessions to no-shows. A cancelled slot usually stays empty.
Most booking tools stop at "you're booked." For Tara, that's where the trouble starts. So Fineprint covers the whole journey:
Client side: pick the spot, size and style and see a price range with the working shown, before giving an email. Choose a real slot (a 3-hour piece can't fit a 2-hour gap), and it's held for 15 minutes. Pay a deposit and get a ticket, a calendar file and a confirmation email in few seconds.
After booking: reminders at 7 days, 48 hours and 24 hours. Clients can move or cancel from their ticket link, and the page shows what happens to their deposit before they confirm.
Owner side: a dashboard with Today, Needs you, an Autopilot feed and pricing rules she sets once.
The refill: when someone cancels, Fineprint offers the slot to waitlisted clients whose days and session length fit. When it fills, the original client's deposit is refunded.
Built with: Lovable, Supabase, Resend. Double-booking is blocked at the database level (tested with 10 simultaneous bookings: 1 succeeded, 9 rejected).

What would a designer’s laptop look like if it came with a starter pack?
I generated a set of creative-life stickers with #Ideogram Vector: a Pen tool anchor, a Ctrl+Z heart, a laptop, a pencil, a headphone skull, a coffee cup and an eyedropper eye, all in a tattoo flash style. Then I finished the raw SVGs the way I would for a client.
Kept: the bold tattoo-flash style and the overall shapes, which Ideogram nailed.
Cleaned up: messy paths, way too many anchor points and uneven stroke weights, so all seven read as one set.
