Homepage clarity is massively underestimated. Most small business sites don’t fail because of design quality — they fail because intent isn’t obvious. When users can’t immediately answer ‘What is this? Who is it for? What should I do?’ friction kills conversions.
Exactly. And what’s interesting is that many founders assume it’s a "design problem," when it’s really a positioning problem.

I would say identifying who their target audience is(who it's for) tends to be the biggest challenge.
