AI does not like leaving blanks.
When a model does not have enough information, it will often still try to produce the most plausible answer.
The result may sound clear, structured, and confident.
But confidence is not proof of accuracy.
This becomes dangerous when AI is used for:
research;
data classification;
customer review analysis;
business recommendations;
factual summaries.
If the workflow requires an answer at all costs, the model may fill missing information with assumptions.
That is why reliable AI systems need permission to return:
insufficient information;
uncertain result;
conflicting evidence;
manual review required.
The goal should not be to make AI answer every question.
The goal should be to make it clear when an answer should not be trusted.
And when the output includes facts, statistics, or specific claims, always verify the references before using or publishing the result.
A polished answer can still be an invented answer.
