I've been working on an amazing self-initiated project with @Sanjana Sharma. We created to explore a more editorial, story-led approach to tourism websites.
Blue Ridge County - fictional place, complete creative freedom, and one of our favorite design explorations so far.

This is such a beautiful exploration. The editorial and story-led direction really makes it feel like a place you want to explore.

Thanks, Kabir! That’s exactly what we were aiming for, something that feels less like a typical tourism site and more like a place you’d actually want to discover. Really appreciate that! 🙌

editorial travel sites are so underused

Totally agree @Nazar Koliano! I feel like the editorial approach makes travel websites feel much more immersive and memorable than the usual destination-site layouts.

Blue Ridge County has such a specific mood, more magazine spread than typical tourism site. Curious whether the editorial direction came first and the fictional place got built around it, or the place came first and you found the voice to match?
Pradyumn's avatar
That’s exactly how it happened, @Diego Sánchez. The editorial direction came first, and then we built the fictional place, stories, and overall character around that visual approach. It was a fun way to let the design lead the world-building.

The editorial storytelling makes this feel like a place with history rather than a standard tourism site. The creative freedom really shows.

Thank you, @Hichām .! That’s exactly what we were hoping to achieve, making it feel like a place with its own history, character, and stories rather than just another tourism website. Really appreciate you noticing that! 🙌
Hichām's avatar
You absolutely achieved it. That sense of place is what made the experience memorable for me 🙌
Pradyumn's avatar
That really means a lot, @Hichām .! 🙌 Especially since the whole project started with exactly that idea, creating a strong sense of place. Glad it came through!

Editorial layouts like this turn into blog templates fast in WordPress, this one avoided that.
Pradyumn's avatar
Thanks, @Toqir Chatha! Really appreciate that. That was one of the challenges we enjoyed most, keeping the editorial feel throughout the site without letting it turn into a typical blog-style layout. 🙌

Thank you so much @Juice Lab ! Really glad the storytelling came through, we wanted the layout to feel editorial while still making the place itself the focus. Appreciate it! 🙌

the editorial direction works so well for travel

Tourism sites can easily become a gallery of pretty photos, so making the experience feel more like a story is such a strong direction

This feels so thoughtfully crafted! 👏 Love the editorial and story-led approach—it makes the destination feel like an experience rather than just another tourism website. The visual direction is beautiful too. Great exploration! 🔥

Thank you so much, @Adebayo Venus ! Really appreciate this 🙌 That was exactly the goal, to make the destination feel like an experience you’d want to explore, rather than just another place to visit. Glad that came through!
