Interesting observation about photography and service business websites after having done 130+ of them: Illustration-heavy sites look polished. Photography-heavy sites look real. For most service businesses, real wins. A custom illustration of a plumber fixing a pipe is nice. A photo of YOUR plumber fixing a pipe in someone's ACTUAL kitchen is proof. The exception: highly technical B2B services where the "work" is not visual. Nobody photographs an IT audit. For those businesses, clean iconography and diagrams work better than forced stock photos of people pointing at servers.
