Carta Libre started with a simple frustration: the map of tech resources for people who didn't come up through traditional pathways doesn't really exist. So I charted one. Literally. Can you tell I've been in museums lately?
My submission for the #configmakeathon is a community-sourced portolan chart (yes, like the medieval navigators used) of AI and tech communities, mission-driven providers, and funders. Built with Figma Make and Figma Weave, ~100+ entries sourced via Perplexity and hosted on Supabase, visuals generated with Flux 2 Pro.
The fun part? Making something that looks centuries old point to where we're actually going. I walk through it and some key features in the video below You can see it live here on Figma Make. Attaching some of the best Flux 2 Pro images below in the comments!

The portolan chart aesthetic is such a smart metaphor. Using Flux 2 Pro for the visuals and Perplexity for data sourcing creates a really cohesive production pipeline. The framing around underrepresented people needing a different kind of map gives this real purpose.
