Creatives on Contra have earned over $150M and we are just getting started
I’m currently working on GlowBeauty, a marketplace designed to connect clients with professional makeup artists in a simpler, more trustworthy way.
What is GlowBeauty?
GlowBeauty allows clients to post their makeup requirements — including event type, date, location, budget, and service — and lets relevant makeup artists discover those requirements and apply.
Clients can then compare artists, explore their portfolios, check reviews and verification, communicate directly, and choose the professional who best fits their needs.
Why GlowBeauty?
Finding a reliable makeup artist is often scattered across Instagram, Google, WhatsApp groups, referrals, and personal contacts.
At the same time, talented makeup artists struggle to find genuine clients and relevant opportunities.
What problem are we solving?
For Clients:
• Easier artist discovery
• Transparent comparison
• Verified profiles and portfolios
• Reviews and ratings
• Direct communication
• More confidence before hiring
For Makeup Artists:
• Access to genuine client requirements
• Relevant job opportunities
• Professional portfolio
• Reviews and credibility
• A better way to reach potential clients
🔐 Trust is a major focus
One of the key challenges I'm working on is portfolio authenticity.
GlowBeauty will use multiple verification signals to identify suspicious, duplicate, manipulated, or potentially stolen images instead of blindly trusting uploaded portfolios.
The goal is simple:
Clients should feel confident about the professional they are hiring.
🛠️ Technology
The platform is being built with a modern, scalable stack:
I’ve earned over $1M on Contra, and now I’m opening up the profile behind that number.
The Contra Handbook is live.
It brings together how I present my work, structure my services and make it easier for a client to understand what they can hire me for.
And making it meant putting my own profile under inspection.
There was a typo in my title. 20 services that needed cutting down. 14 products with no reviews between them. Those changes are part of the course. You watch me work through them on screen, with the reasoning behind each decision.
Across eight modules, you work through your own profile too. Each chapter ends with something concrete to change, and the final module brings it into a 90-day plan.
You get the videos, written Handbook, profile scorecard, role specific guidance and access to The Ledger, the private course group.
If you’ve put real effort into your work and want your Contra profile to represent it properly, this is for you.
Solo-owner mobile car detailer, Austin, TX (serving Round Rock, Cedar Park, and Lakeway)
Marlowe Mobile Detailing was losing about 1 in 5 bookings to no-shows and running behind on nearly every job. This build replaces a vague "can you detail my car?" text with a fully scoped, weather-aware booking flow that sets an accurate time and price upfront, captures access instructions before he arrives, and automates rain-day rescheduling so he never has to chase a customer again.
He works alone and travels to the customer. Rain cancels outdoor jobs. Customers under-describe how dirty their cars are, so jobs run long. About 20% of bookings were no-shows because people forgot he was coming to them.
Creative Business Lab has three paths: Course, Live Cohort, and Mentorship. Both designs show the same $690 Live Cohort with the same benefits. Only the presentation changes.
Vote Horizontal tabs or Side tabs, then tell me the one thing you’d improve before launch. Have a stronger third approach? Show it in the replies.
Horizontal. side tabs read as nav, people skip them. though the stronger third option is no tabs at all, three cards side by side. both of these hide two prices behind a click and comparison is the one job a pricing section has.
