A home services app should make finding the right professional simple and effortless.
Version A - Compact Layout. Keeps the service categories, popular services, and navigation close together, helping users explore more content with less scrolling.
Version B - Spacious Layout. Gives service categories and popular services more breathing room, creating a cleaner interface with a stronger visual hierarchy.
Both approaches aim to make booking home services easier, but they offer different browsing experiences.
Which version would you prefer when looking for a home service?
Just refreshed the case study for Avant Tech, a staffing and IT services company I built a website for in WordPress + Divi.
The interesting part wasn't the design. It was that the site has two completely different visitors: companies who want to hire, and people looking for a job.
So the homepage splits them early. "Let's Talk" takes companies to the contact page, "Apply Now" takes candidates to an application form with a CV upload.
A few things under the hood:
– header and footer built once in the Divi Theme Builder
– the service pages live in their own post type, so adding a new one stays quick and consistent
– a LearnPress training area behind a password
