Why do most AI-generated designs feel technically perfect, yet emotionally empty?
Because execution has become cheap — but human strategic judgment is what actually converts.
For the #envatochallenge, I rebuilt my Senior Product Designer portfolio homepage by merging organic artistic direction with rigid B2B product mechanics.
THE CONCEPT: To resolve the friction between visual aesthetics and functional UX, I combined my analog watercolor textures (from my art project Marina Avdeeva_Artist) with the structural, fluid forms of Zaha Hadid’s architecture.
THE WORKFLOW:
Strategy & Structure: Drafted an architectural Markdown prompt to define the content hierarchy and sequence.
Asset Curation: Sourced architectural web templates, UI graphics, and typography from Envato Elements. Selected Blauer Nuue to establish a precision-led SaaS/Fintech tone.
AI Generation + Human Refinement: Used Envato GenAI for device mockups, manually replacing raw generated backgrounds with custom-curated textures.
Human Direction: Overrode generic AI layout tropes to engineer a 7-phase Engagement Framework focused on user retention and enterprise value.
AI delivers execution speed. Human taste gives the work its purpose.

Human by Design
This project explores the relationship between human creativity and AI—not as competitors, but as collaborators.
Rather than creating a fully AI-generated film, I focused on documenting a real creative workflow.
The screen recordings of ChatGPT and Envato are real, and most of the visuals were created using Envato Elements assets. AI was intentionally used for only a small number of cinematic shots to support the narrative, while the creative direction, research, prompt development, editing, and storytelling remained human-led.
ChatGPT served as a creative collaborator throughout the project, helping me refine the concept, structure the narrative, improve prompts, and strengthen the overall story.
The goal wasn't to show what AI can create alone—but what humans can create when they know how to direct it.
