Most businesses don't lose leads because they lack traffic.
They lose leads because they lack a system.
A common scenario:
• A visitor fills out a website form.
• The notification gets buried in an inbox.
• Nobody follows up quickly.
• The lead goes cold.
A simple CRM and automation setup can:
✓ Capture every lead automatically
✓ Assign leads to the right person
✓ Send instant follow-up emails
✓ Track every conversation
✓ Generate reports on conversions
The businesses growing fastest today aren't necessarily getting more leads.
A lot of businesses respond to weak sales by trying to generate more leads.
More ads.
More content.
More outreach.
More traffic.
But if your offer isn’t converting, more leads can simply create a bigger, more expensive problem.
Before increasing traffic, diagnose what happens after someone becomes interested.
Here’s where you should look:
1. Is the problem actually valuable enough?
If the customer doesn’t see the problem as urgent, even a well-targeted lead may not buy. Your offer needs to address something they really want, and not just something your business does.
2. Is the value proposition clear?
Can a prospect understand what you do, who it’s for, and why it matters within a few seconds?
“Marketing services for growing businesses” is vague.
“We help B2B companies turn paid traffic into qualified sales opportunities” is much more specific.
3. Does the offer reduce perceived risk?
Consumers aren't just considering the potential gain. They’re also asking:
"What if this doesn’t work?"
Proof, case studies, guarantees where appropriate, transparent processes, clear deliverables, and credible positioning can all reduce that perceived risk.
4. Is the price aligned with the value?
A pricing problem isn’t always about being “too expensive.”
Sometimes the real issue is that the customer doesn’t understand the economic value of the outcome.
If your offer costs $5,000 but the prospect cannot see how it could generate or protect significantly more than $5,000, the price will feel expensive regardless of what competitors charge.
5. Where exactly does conversion break?
Don’t just look at the final sales number.
𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲:
Traffic → Lead → Qualified Lead → Meeting → Proposal → Customer
If you have plenty of leads but very few qualified opportunities, you may have a targeting or qualification problem.
If meetings happen but proposals rarely close, investigate the offer, sales process, positioning, or perceived value.
If proposals are accepted but customers don’t stay, the problem may be delivery or expectation-setting.
The goal isn’t simply to get more people into the funnel.
It’s to understand where the funnel is leaking and why.
Fix the conversion problem first. Then scale traffic.
Because sending more traffic into a broken system doesn’t create growth.
It scales the inefficiency.

I automated lead follow-up and management for Miale to reduce the manual work involved in reviewing enquiries, categorizing leads, responding to prospects, and keeping the team informed.
The problem:
When leads come in, manually reviewing each response, deciding how to handle it, sending emails, and notifying the team can take time, and makes it easier for follow-ups to slip through the cracks.
The solution:
I built an AI-powered workflow in Make that automatically processes new lead submissions.
Here’s how it works:
Google Form → Google Sheets → AI Classification → Router → Email + Slack → Lead Tracking
When a prospect submits the form, AI analyzes their collaboration interest and categorizes the lead as Collaboration Lead, Needs Follow-up, or Not Interested.
The workflow then automatically:
- Routes the lead based on their response.
- Sends a relevant email to the prospect.
- Notifies the team in Slack when a new lead needs attention.
- Updates the lead record for easier tracking.
Tools used:
Make · Make AI Toolkit · Google Forms · Google Sheets · Gmail · Slack
The workflow can also be adapted for client enquiries, sales leads, service requests, bookings, applications, and other repetitive lead-management processes.
The goal isn't simply to automate tasks. It's to build a system that helps businesses respond faster, stay organized, and reduce manual follow-up work.
