What does it take to create the music for a fashion show?
In this episode of Ditta Production Diaries, I take you behind the scenes of a fashion show and show you the complete journey of how I produced the music that became part of the final runway experience.
This documentary follows the process from the music production stage to rehearsals and finally the live show, capturing the creative decisions, preparation, performances, and atmosphere that audiences usually never get to see.
Producing music for a fashion show is very different from producing a regular song. The music has to work with the designs, models, movement, lighting, choreography, energy, and overall concept of the show. Every transition and musical moment has to help create the right feeling on the runway.
The process started in the studio, where I worked on the music and developed the sound for the show. From building the production and arranging different sections to shaping the rhythm and transitions, the goal was to create something that could support the visual language of the fashion presentation.
Then came the rehearsals.
Rehearsals are where the music starts interacting with the actual show. Models practise their walks, timings are adjusted, and the production team works to make sure everything connects together. This is also where you begin to understand whether the music is really working with the movement on stage.
The rhythm and timing become especially important during this stage. A runway isn't simply about playing music in the background — the music becomes part of the performance itself.
The documentary then takes you into the final show, where all the preparation finally comes together.
After hours of production, rehearsals, adjustments, and preparation, the music is finally experienced in the environment it was created for — alongside the fashion, models, stage, lighting, audience, and live energy of the event.
This episode is a look at the creative process behind that journey and an insight into what goes into producing music specifically for a fashion show.
