47 plugins on a WordPress site. I'm not kidding, I counted. That's not a website anymore, that's a traffic jam. Here's the pattern I keep running into: a business site taking 8+ seconds to load, and it's never the hosting. It's the graveyard of quick fixes — a slider plugin, a popup plugin, a share plugin, then a plugin to manage all the other plugins. Every single one fires its scripts on every page, whether that page needs it or not. The fix is gloriously boring. Audit what each plugin actually does, delete the ones doing double duty, and replace the simple ones with a few lines in functions.php. Throw in real caching plus deferred scripts, and I've watched bloated sites drop from 8 seconds to under 2. Google notices. Your visitors definitely do. So. When did you last count yours? Drop the number and I'll be honest about whether it's a red flag. #WordPress #WebPerformance #SmallBusiness
