A brand isn’t a folder of assets – it’s a living system.
In a tech era, every part of a brand should behave like a system: connected, modular, and ready to evolve.
That’s why I like to think we’re moving from “Design System” to “Brand System” – not just documenting components, but encoding how a brand thinks, feels, and changes across products, content, and interactions.
How are you doing this with your clients? Are your brand guidelines still a PDF, or already a living system inside your tools (Figma, Notion, DS)?
This is very important indeed. Its been our motto, brand should always exist as a system. Most of the brands fall apart when they move without a system.
Brands are much more than static sets of brand guidelines, do's and don't.
Kudos.
Mockups are great, but when presenting a visual identity to clients, we always include a slide explaining the thinking behind the logomark and connecting it back to the strategy.
It makes feedback and further revisions so much smoother too
