Quiet late nights are when my best ideas surface. Lately, I’m not much of a night person, but when the drive hits, I take a 30-minute sprint to capture the base of an idea before it fades.
I’m currently building a brand foundation for my brother’s new carpentry workshop. He recently retired from sports to follow a family legacy of working with massive wood. Seeing his "burning interest" reminded me that passion needs a system to scale.
Even for family, my process is methodical:
Research the background.
Moodboard the direction.
Sketch to form the soul of the mark.
I’m creating a logo and visual system as a surprise so he can deliver his wooden masterpieces with confidence.

Love the late night hustle! There's something special about those quiet creative hours. Carpentry workshop branding is such a satisfying project - the craft lends itself to strong, timeless design. What direction are you taking with the visual identity?
Since my brother is working with real massive wood and he is very proud of his precision and craftiness, I am moving toward something Sturdy (Massive, durable, lasting), Pensive (Crafted, sharp), and a bit Warm on the side since it's wood.
I'll see where this takes me, though...
what is the circle device on the corner of the mouse pad?
It's a knob for a monitor light bar. I always used a dimmed background light at night, then I got a light bar as a present, and now I can't imagine my setup without it.
This one is from Xiaomi, it's great.
Totally get that — a monitor light bar really makes a big difference at night.
