When Sunderland City Council needed a website for BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend, one of the UK's biggest free music festivals, the challenge wasn't just building a site. It was turning a flood of event information (schedules, travel routes, accommodation, local attractions) into something visitors could actually use under pressure, often on their phones, often in a hurry.
We designed and built a travel-planning platform that put clarity first. Every screen was structured around the questions a visitor actually has: how do I get there, where do I stay, what else is happening nearby. No clutter, no guesswork, just a clean path from question to answer.
The result was a platform built for one of the UK's most high-profile public events, handling real-world traffic and real visitors trying to plan their trip in real time, without the site ever getting in their way.
